Suresh Law will provide a basic primer on key legal tools for startups. This will include contracts to have for various uses such as non-disclosure agreements, offer letters, and terms and conditions. Additionally, he will cover technology tools that can be leveraged for self-serve legal needs by founders such as for maintaining minute books.
Suresh is a technology and business lawyer with a background in engineering and entrepreneurship. He completed his articles at boutique firms in the areas of corporate and technology law. Over the course of his professional career, Suresh has held executive roles with various organizations, launched three ventures and mentored dozens of startups. He has also worked for leading companies such as Amazon, Microsoft and BlackBerry. Suresh speaks English, French and Tamil.
Suresh has earned four prestigious degrees: Juris Doctor (JD) from Osgoode Hall Law School, Strategic Management (MBA) from Lazaridis School of Business & Economics, Electrical Engineering (BASc) and Liberal Studies (BA) from the University of Waterloo. He was the recipient of the Student Honours Award at Osgoode, CIBC Leaders in Entrepreneurship Award and John McBain International Award for humanitarian work.
Suresh is a member in good standing at the Law Society of Ontario and the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He is an active mentor at various incubators and universities including The Hatchery at the University of Toronto, The Forge by McMaster University, the StartUp Lab at Wilfrid Laurier University, and the Entrepreneurship Hub at the University of Ottawa.
