Description
Primary Art Curriculum Support: Pathway for Years 3 & 4: Gestural Drawing with Charcoal.
Monday 16th September, 4.00pm-5.00pm BST.
Free for AccessArt Members.
Join us for our next pathway support session where will be sharing the Gestural Drawing with Charcoal pathway from the AccessArt Primary Art Curriculum.
These pathway support sessions aim to build teacher knowledge around how the AccessArt Primary Art Curriculum pathways are constructed, and how they can be adapted to suit your school.
The Gestural Drawing with Charcoal pathway introduces children to the idea that drawings can be made using the whole body, exploring charcoal as a medium. Through drawing exercises, children are freed from the constraints of creating representational drawings based on observation and instead they use the qualities of charcoal to work in dynamic ways. Linking drawing to the whole body helps children see drawing as a physical activity, whilst a sense of narrative feeds the imagination.
Suitable for Art Leads, Classroom Teachers, SLT and other educators. Please note that even if you are not following this pathway, you may find the ideas and approaches relevant to other ages/pathways. The activities in this pathway can also be adapted to other ages and settings.
This session will be recorded and made available to AccessArt members a few days after the event.
Please note, this event is free and open to AccessArt members only. A zoom link, accessible via logging into the AccessArt website, will be sent a few days before the event. Please ensure you can log in well before the event so we can help you with any login issues. Please contact andrea@accessart.org.uk if you have any problems.
