Aimed at: Home educators, educators working within vulnerable settings such as CAMHS, ESBA, hospitals, neuroinclusive spaces, nurture groups, care homes, youth offender institutions, extracurricular providers such as galleries, museums and community clubs, teachers and artist educators.

Discover a fresh, playful approach to drawing in this hands-on, 30-minute practical session that is suitable for all audiences.

In this session, we’ll guide you through our Glimpses and Folds Sketchbook Challenge. You’ll create a sketchbook filled with a series of drawings made from life. Each drawing folds away into a tiny sketchbook, revealing small glimpses of the moments and objects you’ve observed and recorded.

The activity encourages you to use iterative drawing methods to be curious, explore your surroundings, and think creatively about how you can capture ‘glimpses’ of what you notice. This is a useful grounding exercise to help participants settle and be mindful.

Join in with the activity or simply listen and watch along — everyone is welcome!

We recognise that mainstream education doesn’t work for every learner, and that art can play a huge role in helping young people access education in a way that works for them. The AccessArt Treehouse Challenges offer young people a way into creative exploration that feels enabling and exciting.

This session involves a practical activity and is therefore best attended live. However, if you are unable to attend, AccessArt Members will be able to access the recording a few days after the event. 

A list of materials needed will be sent out closer to the event.
