Designed for Directors of Curriculum, Senior Leaders, Headteachers, Deputy Heads and Curriculum Leads, this session explores why the arts are essential to every school, and how purposeful leadership can create the conditions for creativity to thrive across the whole school community.

In this online session, we are delighted to be joined by two leading experts in arts education. HMI Adam Vincent, Ofsted’s Subject Lead for Art and Design, will explore the wide-ranging benefits of an arts-rich education and why it remains important for schools to prioritise the arts, even in the absence of subject deep dives. Then Sally Bacon, Co-Chair of the Cultural Learning Alliance will discuss what conditions need to be in place in schools, to create an environment for the arts to really flourish, and address some of the common barriers. Sally will also be sharing more on the CLA’s third annual ‘Report Card’ launched in May 2026.

AccessArt will also share insights into some of the capabilities and attitudes which an arts rich education can help develop, including greater inclusion, wellbeing and engagement.
