ONLINE MAKATON LEVEL 1

Makaton is a communication tool that allows people and children with SEND or communication difficulties to express themselves and their needs effectively. When you are able to use Makaton with someone who is unable to speak it can mean the difference between isolation and understanding. If you work or care for people with communication difficulties, learning Makaton can change your life and the quality of the lives of the people you care for.

In this course we will be learning the basics of Makaton which will include:

• Hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use
• How to use Makaton in everyday life
• Signs and symbols of stage 1 and 2 core vocabulary
• A certificate and manual with exercises, signs and symbols
