Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Sean McDaniel is a seasoned educational leader with over 16 years of experience as a superintendent. He served as the Superintendent of Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) from 2018 until 2024. During his tenure, he led the ambitious "Pathway to Greatness" project and secured a nearly $1 billion bond proposal to improve school facilities. Pathway to Greatness aimed to optimize resources by closing, consolidating, and repurposing schools, ensuring a higher quality education. It was a bold move that faced both support and criticism, reflecting McDaniel's willingness to make tough decisions for the betterment of the district. Under his leadership, the district proposed a nearly $1 billion bond to improve school infrastructure. This ambitious plan aimed at modernizing facilities, enhancing safety measures, and improving technology in schools, showing McDaniel's commitment to providing a conducive learning environment.
McDaniel prioritized community involvement in decision-making processes, fostering a sense of ownership and collaboration among parents, students, and staff. He launched several programs to support students' academic and emotional well-being, emphasizing holistic education. His tenure wasn't without challenges, but his focus on long-term improvements and community-centric approaches has left a lasting legacy in Oklahoma City's educational landscape.
