A series of ten webinars suitable for students aged around 11-12 years old, although they may suit slightly older or younger students depending on ability.
In this block, we study a range of texts, including extracts from a biography, an article, speech, narrative, interview, letter and journal entry, which explore the significance of relationships we have with friends and family members and the various roles they play in our lives. We also look at the importance we attach to the place we call home and the different forms it can take as well as the way buildings are designed and constructed and how architecture might evolve in future.
Throughout the course, we will be building students' core skills and a solid foundation in English in a fun and engaging way. A wide range of supplementary cross-curricular resources, including links to relevant articles, news reports, websites and documentaries, and optional written tasks will be provided. This will give students the opportunity to broaden their reading and enhance their knowledge of effective writing as well as extend their vocabulary and their technical skills, understanding of structure and sequence, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Recordings are made available via Google Classroom, so students are able to review what is covered in each webinar at any time. In addition, an optional written task is provided for students to complete if they wish to.
Once you have completed your booking, please look out for an email with details on how to access Google Classroom and all the recordings and resources.
