Theme: Optimising outcomes in Vestibular rehabilitation.
We are excited to host our conference next year in sunny Brighton at the Brighton and Hove Albion's AMEX stadium.
Our theme at our last conference was Acute vertigo. We therefore felt a logical follow on this time would be to focus on Rehabilitation and how we can optimise outcome within the great work we all endeavour to do for our patients.
We have a fantastic line up of expert lecturers from across the UK and Europe ready to deliver a fascinating day of content for those in attendance.
Speakers scheduled:
- Dr Toby Elmers (Clinical Psychologist)- Concerns about falling - impact and mechanisms.
- Bianca Nicklen (Clinical Psychologist) - Treating concerns about falling - Towards a protocol for psychologically informed intervention. (Joint Q&A with Dr Elmers)
- Dr Lien Van Laer - (Physiotherapist, PhD) Unilateral peripheral hypofunction. The importance of assessing visual dependence in the acute and subacute phases.
- Dr David Herdman - (Clinical specialist physiotherapist PhD) - Early Access, Better Outcomes: Service Redesign to Deliver Early Vestibular Rehabilitation through Advanced Practice Physiotherapy’
- Ed Tank and Eleanor Morrison (Clinical specialist physiotherapists) Talking on the challenges and rewards related to their development of a Vestibular rehabilitation service.
- Dr Jeremy Corcoran (Clinical specialist Physiotherapist PhD): Topic: ‘Service perspective on optimising outcomes in VRT’
- Dr Hena Ahmad Consultant Neurologist: Topic: Vestibular migraine : pathophysiology to management

- Post lecture networking from 5:30-7:00pm (Bar available). Continue the day into the evening for those that wish to finish discussions over a beverage and meet new colleagues/friends. The discount codes are limited to one discounted ticket for each ACPIVR member.

The event is aimed at clinicians of all levels, with the emphasis on clinically relevant research and promoting best practice.
This is also our annual general meeting which we request all ACPIVR members to attend and participate in. we will review our finances status with our treasurer's report, elect committee members and assign roles, give an update of plans for the year ahead and discuss any motions.
