ACSA Financial Literacy Workshop

Saving, Budgeting & Investing as a Student

In recognition of Black History Month, the Afro-Caribbean Student Association (ACSA) is hosting a practical financial literacy workshop led by a student guest speaker.

This session focuses on essential money skills that are often not taught in school. Using real-life student examples, the workshop will break down how to budget realistically, build consistent saving habits, and understand the basics of investing within the Canadian financial system.

Topics include budgeting without extreme restrictions, automating savings, compound interest, dollar-cost averaging, common financial mistakes to avoid, and an introduction to Canadian financial tools such as the TFSA.

This event is open to all students and community members, regardless of background or financial experience. Whether you’re new to managing your finances or looking to strengthen your financial knowledge, this session offers practical tools and clear, accessible guidance.
