Bydd y sesiwn friffio ar-lein hon yn rhoi cyflwyniad i ADSS Cymru ac yn cynnig trosolwg cryno, sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth o gyflwr presennol gofal cymdeithasol yng Nghymru, gan dynnu ar ein cyfres o bapurau briffio ar ôl yr etholiad. Bydd cyfieithu ar y pryd ar gael er mwyn cefnogi ymgysylltu a thrafodaeth ddwyieithog.

Ynglŷn ag ADSS Cymru
Bydd y sesiwn yn dechrau gyda chyflwyniad i ADSS Cymru fel y corff arweinyddiaeth broffesiynol ar gyfer cyfarwyddwyr gwasanaethau cymdeithasol ym mhob un o'r 22 awdurdod lleol yng Nghymru. Mae ADSS Cymru yn darparu arweinyddiaeth genedlaethol, arbenigedd polisi a llais ar y cyd i'r sector - gan weithio gyda Llywodraeth Cymru, y GIG a phartneriaid eraill i lunio polisi, cefnogi cyflawni a sicrhau bod gwasanaethau gofal cymdeithasol yn parhau i ddiwallu anghenion unigolion, teuluoedd a chymunedau ledled Cymru.

Byddwn yn nodi pwysigrwydd arweinyddiaeth gref, system gyfan mewn gofal cymdeithasol - gan ddod â mewnwelediad proffesiynol, profiad gweithredol a chyfrifoldeb statudol ynghyd i lywio penderfyniadau cenedlaethol a chefnogi cyflawniad effeithiol ar lawr gwlad.

Cyflwr y Genedl: Gofal Cymdeithasol yng Nghymru
Bydd y prif sesiwn yn darparu trosolwg o 'gyflwr y genedl' o ofal cymdeithasol yng Nghymru. Bydd hyn yn tynnu'n uniongyrchol o gyfres briffio ADSS Cymru ac yn amlinellu:

• Maint a gwerth gofal cymdeithasol yng Nghymru - cefnogi degau o filoedd o bobl a chyflogi dros 80,000 o staff, gyda chyfraniad economaidd a chymdeithasol sylweddol
• Rôl ganolog y gweithlu a'r heriau a'r cyfleoedd mewn recriwtio, cadw, tâl a lles
• Y pwysau ariannol a strwythurol sy'n wynebu'r system, gan gynnwys yr angen am gyllid hirdymor, cynaliadwy a therfynau atebion tymor byr
• Y cyfleoedd ar gyfer diwygio a gwella, gan gynnwys trawsnewid digidol, atal ac integreiddio system pellach ag iechyd.

Mae'r sesiwn hon wedi'i chynllunio i roi darlun clir a chytbwys i'r Aelodau, gan dynnu sylw at gryfderau'r system bresennol a'r heriau allweddol a fydd yn llunio'r cam nesaf o bolisi a chyflawni.

Trafodaeth ac Ymgysylltu
Bydd y sesiwn friffio yn dod i ben gyda chyfle i gwestiynau a thrafodaeth, gan ganiatáu i'r Aelodau archwilio materion yn fanylach ac ystyried sut y gall ADSS Cymru gefnogi eu dealltwriaeth o bolisi ac arferion gofal cymdeithasol.

Overview

This online briefing session will provide an introduction to ADSS Cymru and offer a concise, evidence-based overview of the current state of social care in Wales, drawing on our post-election briefing paper series. Simultaneous translation will be available in order to support bilingual engagement and discussion.

About ADSS Cymru
The session will begin with an introduction to ADSS Cymru as the professional leadership body for directors of social services across all 22 Welsh local authorities. ADSS Cymru provides national leadership, policy expertise and a collective voice for the sector - working with Welsh Government, the NHS and other partners to shape policy, support delivery and ensure that social care services continue to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities across Wales.

We will set out the importance of strong, system-wide leadership in social care - bringing together professional insight, operational experience and statutory responsibility to inform national decision-making and support effective delivery on the ground.

State of the Nation: Social Care in Wales
The main session will provide a “state of the nation” overview of social care in Wales. This will draw directly from ADSS Cymru’s briefing series and outline:

• The scale and value of social care in Wales - supporting tens of thousands of people and employing over 80,000 staff, with significant economic and social contribution
• The central role of the workforce and the challenges and opportunities in recruitment, retention, pay and wellbeing
• The financial and structural pressures facing the system, including the need for long-term, sustainable funding and the limits of short-term solutions
• The opportunities for reform and improvement, including digital transformation, prevention and further system integration with health.

This session is designed to provide Members with a clear, balanced picture, highlighting both the strengths of the current system and the key challenges that will shape the next phase of policy and delivery.

Discussion and Engagement
The briefing will conclude with an opportunity for questions and discussion, allowing Members to explore issues in more detail and consider how ADSS Cymru can support their understanding of social care policy and practice.
