Summer Volunteer Orientation
Sat May 3, 2025 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM PDT
Adventures Without Limits, 97116
Description
Attending a volunteer orientation is an excellent way to learn more about AWL and what it’s like to volunteer with us! It's also a requirement for any NEW volunteers who want to support our trips.
Orientation Details:
When: May 3rd, 2025 from 10:00am - 12:00 pm
Where: AWL Headquarters, 1341 Pacific Ave. Forest Grove, OR 97116 (on the campus of Tom McCall Upper Elementary School)
Who: Anyone 18 years or older who is interested in supporting Adventures Without Limits' summer programs - rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, camping, hiking, or climbing!
What: Please come prepared with ID/driver's license, current relevant certifications (CPR, First Aid, etc.), and an open mind! During orientation we will answer any and all questions as well as distribute necessary onboarding materials for you to complete before your first volunteer day.
Next step: After you’ve attended one of our summer volunteer orientations, submitted necessary onboarding paperwork, passed a background check, we will notify you that you are ready to request program dates!
Requirements:
While having a background in the activities we offer is a big plus, expertise is not required! We do ask that those applying have sound judgement, are comfortable in the outdoors, enjoy working with diverse groups, and are willing to commit to 3 trips/events with us per year. Volunteers must have first aid and CPR certifications, and are required to pass a background check prior to volunteering first program.
Since we are a small nonprofit, our volunteers can help in many ways indoors too! There are opportunities to volunteer your time and skills to ongoing projects that include, but are not limited to: photography/videography, event planning, fundraising, marketing, outreach, and more! If you have ideas, we want to hear them!
