Adaptive Camp & Surf with Shriners Children's & Adventures Without Limits

In partnership with Shriners Children's Rec Therapy Department, Adventures Without Limits will host up to 10 families for a weekend camping trip at Fort Stevens State Park, August 7th-9th. 

What to expect:

• A fun weekend cabin camping! We'll be staying in cabins within the K loop in Fort Stevens State Park.  Kids and families are welcome to participate in camp activities including surfing, hiking, arts & crafts, and sharing meals in camp. 
• Most cabins are ADA-accessible and include a small bedroom with a bunk bed (full size on bottom, twin on top), as well as a futon that folds out into a full size bed in the living room area. Each cabin has lights, electricity, a very basic kitchenette with sink and refrigerator. Cabins are equipped with a shower and restroom which has handrails. (Note: If you do NOT require ADA accessibility (ramped entrance to the cabin) please select the non-ADA accessible option at checkout if they are still available.)
• On Saturday morning, we'll drive to Seaside for an adaptive surfing lesson with AmpSurf.
  

Important Information:

• All individuals participating must meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
• Ages 4 and up (for surfing). Minors must be in attendance with a supervising adult. Parents/guardians of youth under age 8 may be asked to be in the water with their child.
• Campers must be able to meet onsite.
• Check-in is on Friday, August 7th beginning at 4:30 PM. Check-out on Sunday, August 9th by 12:00 PM (noon).
• Well behaved non-service animals may be allowed and must be kept on 6 ft leash at all times. 
  • Please have a plan for care for your pet or service animal while surfing. Animals cannot be left unattended in cabins.
• Simple camp meals will be provided by AWL Friday dinner - Sunday breakfast. We may or may not be able to accommodate dietary preferences, so we encourage campers to bring snacks to supplement group meals throughout the weekend.
• Sleeping bags and other camp gear can be borrowed free of charge after completing a gear request form from AWL. Wetsuits for surfing will be provided by AmpSurf.
• Due to the popularity of this event and difficulty filling last minute cancellations for a multi-day program, registration fees are non-refundable.

2. Look for a confirmation email ensuring that your registration is complete

Participants will receive a registration email after they've completed the registration process. Liability Waivers and Gear Request Forms will be linked in the confirmation email. Participants MUST sign the electronic waiver and complete a gear request at least 7 days before the trip. If the participant signs the waiver or completes a gear request after this time frame, then we may not be able to accommodate any specific needs on the trip. If the participant fails to sign the waiver, they will not be permitted to join the trip.
