Program: Cabin Camping, in partnership with OSCI
Trip Date: 9/25 - 9/27/26
Cost: sliding scale ($275 - $400) - What is a sliding scale?

Adventures Without Limits is teaming up with Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Connection to host a weekend camping trip for the SCI community in the Pacific NW. We have reserved the cabins at LaPine State Park, September 25th - 27th, 2026. Each cabin sleeps up to 5 total (details below).

What to expect:

  • A fun weekend outdoors and camping in deluxe cabins at LaPine State Park! Individuals and families are welcome to participate in group activities such as: kayaking on nearby Paulina Lake (Saturday), stargazing, time around the campfire, or check out local attractions nearby - including the High Desert Museum, Lava Lands Visitor Center, or other great sites!

What is included with registration:

  • The deluxe cabins at LaPine State Park are ADA accessible, and equipped with one futon (which converts to a double bed), a bunk bed (with double on the bottom, twin bed on top), lights, refrigerator, microwave, bathroom (with shower), sink, an electric heater, and outlets. Deluxe cabins include vinyl mattresses, but participants will need to supply their own bedding. Camp supplies (sleeping bag, headlamp, etc.) may be reserved upon request.
  • Happy Hour type snacks Friday evening, simple breakfast Saturday & Sunday mornings, and a group dinner in camp Saturday evening. Everyone will be responsible for their own dinner Friday evening, as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

What's new this year?

  • The registration fee is offered on a sliding scale in an effort to reduce financial barriers to access, while also ensuring the long-term sustainability of this program. The sliding scale base (financial assistance needed) only covers the cost of the reservation for 2 nights, and not the additional resources that go into this program. If you have already attended a CampAbility trip in Summer 2026 at a subsidized rate, please consider leaving these limited spaces for other folks to join the program.

Important Information:

  • All individuals participating must meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
  • Minors must be in attendance with a supervising adult. Participants must be 6 years-old or older to participate in kayaking.
  • Individuals/families must be able to meet onsite. If transportation is a barrier for you, please email jennifer@awloutdoors.org to request transportation at the time of registering for the event.
  • Check-in Friday, August 25th begins at 4:30 PM. Check out on Sunday, August 27th by 12:00 PM (noon).
  • Simple camp meals will be provided by AWL Saturday breakfast - Sunday breakfast, with a Happy Hour of snacks served Friday evening from 5:30-7:30 PM. We may or may not be able to accommodate dietary preferences, so we encourage campers to bring snacks to supplement group meals throughout the weekend.
  • You will notice that (2) of the deluxe cabins available are NOT pet-friendly. Service animals are of course welcome, but non-service animal pets are only allowed in designated cabins. If you do bring a pet, please make sure they are friendly with other kids and dogs, stay on a leash at all times, and have a plan for care for your pet during activities. Animals are not to be left in cabins unattended, and AWL staff will not be able to take responsibility for service animals or pets.

To register:

  1. Review AWL's Essential Eligibility Criteria and Cancellation Policies

  2. Register! - Click the red REGISTER HERE button to complete your registration. Participants can complete a single ticket registration per tent site. (ex. family or friends sharing a tent or tent space may complete a single ticket registration), and we encourage folks who are able to purchase individual registration tickets to do so.

  3. Look for a confirmation email ensuring that your registration is complete!

Participants will receive a registration email after they've completed the registration process. Liability Waivers and Gear Request Forms will be linked in the confirmation email. Participants MUST sign the electronic waiver and complete a gear request at least 7 days before the trip. If the participant signs the waiver or completes a gear request after this time frame, then we may not be able to accommodate any specific needs on the trip. If the participant fails to sign the waiver, they will not be permitted to join the trip.
