Program Description:
Join Adventures Without Limits and a USFWS biologist for a birding hike at Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. The trip is open to the public, inclusive, and accessible to people of all abilities. We specialize in creating a welcome space for diverse sets of needs.
Transportation:
Participants can meet our team on-site at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge visitor center, or shuttle with AWL from the Beaverton Transit Center (4108 SW Lombard Ave, Beaverton, OR 97005). Please note that our bus is lift-equipped with space for 2 wheelchair users.

Itinerary:
11:00 AM - Shuttle pick up at Milky Way, Pacific University
11:30 AM - Shuttle pick up at Beaverton Transit Center
12:00 PM - Arrive at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge visitor center
12:15 PM - Time to hike!
2:00 PM - Return to the visitor center
2:30 PM - Shuttle departs Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge
3:00 PM - Shuttle drop off at Beaverton Transit Center
3:30 PM - Shuttle drop off at Pacific University

Packing List:
- Binoculars (if you have some!)
- Durable, close-toed shoes for hiking, such as tennis shoes, running shoes, or hiking boots.
- Avoid wearing cotton if possible. Instead, try to wear synthetic materials such as fleece that will dry quicker and keep you warmer.
- Backpack for personal belongings
- Water bottle
- Snacks, lunch for after
- Rain gear
- Warm layers
- Dry clothes to change into afterward in case of rain.

Participants will receive a registration email after they've completed the registration process. Liability Waivers and Gear Request Forms will be linked in the confirmation email. Participants MUST sign the electronic waiver and complete a gear request at least 7 days prior to the trip. If the participant signs the waiver or completes a gear request after this time frame, then we may not be able to accommodate any specific needs on the trip. If the participant fails the sign the waiver, they will not be permitted to join the trip.
