Adventures Without Limits' CampAbility Program invites individuals and families into a welcoming and supportive camping environment to create a fun, outdoor experience for the Deaf community (ages 18+)

Program: Tent Camping

Trip Date: October 9th - 11th, 2026
Cost: sliding scale ($75 - $125) - What is a sliding scale?

What to expect:

  • A fun weekend outdoors tent camping at Milo McIver State Park! Campers are welcome to participate in group activities which may include disc golf, kayaking on Estacada Lake, ASL campfire stories, stargazing, games and activities, or enjoy the park independently.
  • Toilets are available in the group campground (not ADA accessible). Showers and accessible bathrooms are a short drive (5 min) into the main campground.
  • Bring lots of battery powered lights to help us light up the campsite at night, as well as your own batteries and/or charging supplies for your hearing aid(s) and/or cochlear implant(s) if any. There are no outlets in the group campsite, so please don't plan on access to electricity.

Important Information:

  • All individuals participating must meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
  • This event is intended for adults 18+
  • Campers must be able to meet onsite. If you face barriers to transportation, please email jennifer@awloutdoors.org
  • Check in on Friday, October 9th begins at 4:30 PM. Check out on Sunday, October 11th by 12:00 PM (noon).
  • Well behaved non-service animals may be allowed and must be kept on 6 ft. leash at all times.
    • Please have a plan for care for your pet or service animal if you'd like to go kayaking. AWL is not responsible for animals on or off the water. Pets or service animals who do not have previous experience and comfort in a kayak (able to sit still on your lap without impeding paddling for an extended period of time) could pose a safety risk to yourself and/or the group.
    • If your pet or service animal is over 15 lbs they will not fit in the boat. AWL staff will not be available to stay back with pets or service animals at any point during the trip.
  • Simple camp meals will be provided by AWL Friday dinner - Sunday breakfast. We may or may not be able to accommodate dietary preferences, so we encourage campers to bring snacks to supplement group meals throughout the weekend.
  • Questions? Email jennifer@awloutdoors.org.

To register:

  1. Review AWL's Essential Eligibility Criteria and Cancellation Policies

  2. Register! - Click the red REGISTER HERE button to complete your registration. Participants can complete a single ticket registration per tent site. (ex. family or friends sharing a tent or tent space may complete a single ticket registration), and we encourage folks who are able to purchase individual registration tickets to do so.

  3. Look for a confirmation email ensuring that your registration is complete!

Participants will receive a registration email after they've completed the registration process. Liability Waivers and Gear Request Forms will be linked in the confirmation email. Participants MUST sign the electronic waiver and complete a gear request at least 7 days before the trip. If the participant signs the waiver or completes a gear request after this time frame, then we may not be able to accommodate any specific needs on the trip. If the participant fails to sign the waiver, they will not be permitted to join the trip.
