SreeRaagam Festival of Indian Arts & Music – Event Description
The SreeRaagam Festival of Indian Arts & Music returns on Sunday, 1 March 2026, bringing an immersive celebration of India’s classical and contemporary artistic heritage to The Theatre, St Brendan’s Sixth Form College, Bristol. Established in 2023 in memory of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal, the festival has quickly grown into a premier cultural event showcasing exceptional talent in music, dance, literature, and traditional art forms.
The 2026 edition features an inspiring lineup, including classical dance by Narthaki Dance Academy, a fusion concert titled Winter Melodies led by violinist Shyam Balamurali, a soulful ghazal evening, and a special tribute to filmmaker Sree Balachandra Menon. The highlight of the festival is Devaraga Padangal, a groundbreaking Kathakali production that blends iconic Malayalam film songs with classical storytelling—making its European debut.
Alongside the performances, visitors can enjoy curated book and textile exhibitions and a Kerala food court, creating a vibrant, multi-sensory cultural experience. The festival also celebrates artistic excellence through the Adwaya Award for Best Literary Work and the G. Devarajan Award for Outstanding Singer/Musician.
