Description

Mobility is for everyone!

Mobility and transport offers should be approached and implemented accordingly. In order to address the whole market, differences between men and women must also be taken into account. To ensure that the topic gets into practice, we offer our online course Gender and Mobility.

  • How do men's and women's mobility actually differ?
  • In which areas exactly do differences become apparent?
  • Where do the differences actually come from?
  • And more importantly, what can we do to achieve gender-equitable mobility?

The topic of gender is attracting more and more attention. It's about time, though, since we've known for decades that there are significant differences in transport behaviour between women and men.

The Content

Over a period of four weeks, the online course Gender and Mobility offers a space to approach the complex topic together with others, generate ideas, and establish contacts. Each week, one module is unlocked, which can be worked on independently and interactively. But don't worry, nobody will be left alone! In addition to two live events, there will be enough space for Q&A and exchange, so that projects can be launched right away.

Module 1 – Backgrounds

Why is it important to think about gender in the field of mobility and transport? In addition to introductory evidence, the background will be explained, what social gender actually is and what effects it has in our everyday lives.

Module 2 – Impact

In this section, we dive deep into the findings and learn about different mobility and transport fields where gender has an impact. For holistic insights, the Gendered Daily Mobility Framework is used and filled with different results from studies.

Module 3 – Mobility Data

In a lot of the data, women are often invisible, as the book Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez, has also shown (absolute reading tip!). This module shows the current deficits and provides ways to collect and analyze data in a gender-sensitive way.

Module 4 – Closing the Gender Mobility Gap

So, what do we actually do with all this knowledge about differences? In this module, concrete measures are developed that can be applied in practice to make women more visible. Be it in the form of how to make teams more diverse or how to make products and services more attractive for women.

Why should you participate?

After the course you will:

  • have a completely different view of our society and the topic of mobility.
  • know the differences between male and female mobility and understand the background.
  • know tricks to collect and interpret gender-sensitive data.
  • be able to design your own mobility in a gender-sensitive way.
  • generate measures in your own company to convince more people with your products and services.
  • have a mega learning poster that summarises the contents visually. (Best suited for showing off in the office!)

Participation fee: Regularly 415,- € and for students with appropriate proof 119,- € (prices incl. VAT).
Please send proof of student status to contact@aem-institute.de.
