Circus For All: Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Festival

Sat 25 Jul 2026 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Aerial Edge Circus School, G51 2YU

Welcome to the wonderful world of circus! This show celebrates circus as part of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Festival – you'll see all sorts of awesome aerial arts,  including our most popular one, flying trapeze! There's also amazing acrobatics and hypnotic hula hooping which is graceful, fast and mesmerising.

Even better than watching the big tricks and fast action, you can try it yourself afterwards! Performers in the show will join other instructors from the Aerial Edge team to teach you in 30-minute taster sessions. You can book the taster classes here. Just like this show, these classes are free. At checkout, please give the codes given out in leaflets at our pop-up events at St Enoch Centre, Govan Cross Shopping Centre and Silverburn Shopping Centre.

There is a suggested donation amount when you go through checkout for this show, which you can change to any amount including zero. If you can spare anything it will be appreciated, if not it's absolutely fine, your presence will be appreciated in making this event enjoyable for everyone. Donations will be used for our sponsored places scheme to help young people who experience barriers to participation.

In this show, you'll see students from Aerial Edge as well as professional performers. Some are from our full-time circus training courses, some from our recreational classes, and some from Youth Circus. All of them are inspiring, showing that circus really is for all.

Most of these people started training with us when they had no experience at all of circus arts, and they're here to show you what's possible.

While the city is buzzing with the excitement of the world's best athletes going for gold, it's good to remember that circus is a physical activity that gets you fit and strong just for the fun of it. The inherently playful nature of finding your way around apparatus and trying tricks brings people together in a way that isn't a competitive sport. So come join the Aerial Edge community! It's friendly, supportive, non-judgmental, and encouraging – you'll love it, and you'll fit right in.

We're proud to be part of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Festival, thanks to the trust invested in us by the organisers and funding bodies: Glasgow 2026, Glasgow Life, Commonwealth Sport, Scottish Government, Glasgow City Council, sportscotland.

Every donation helps someone

As a not-for-profit organisation, any donations that you are able to make for our Sponsored Places scheme will be most welcome. This gives places in our Youth Circus to people who experience barriers to participation.

We suggest £12 because that’s the cost of one 90-minute class, but any amount that you can give will go into a fund which sponsors students either in classes or our camps during school holidays. £12 will show at checkout but you can change that to zero or any other amount.

Circus classes for all ages and abilities – you're welcome to join the fun

Aerial Edge is committed to Circus for All, regardless of age, size, body shape or experience. We know that people develop many aspects of themselves through circus training, not just their skills in circus disciplines.

If you’re interested in learning circus skills, try our recreational classes for all ages and abilities. Circus Fitness from 6pm-7pm each weekday is a great starting place, at just £7.50 for each 60-minute session when you buy an 8-class pass. Each day focuses on a different aspect of circus training.

If you want to learn a specific circus art, classes last 90 minutes, and are mostly in the evenings. Some classes run during the day alongside our full-time students. We have full-time courses lasting four weeks, four months and one year. And there are different types of performance opportunities for all experience levels.

For more information about our full programme of circus training, see our website.

Upcoming full-time courses you can join

  • Join one of our four-week full-time Circus Intensive Courses. You can also choose to train in week-long blocks, whenever we have a four-week Intensive running.
  • Take it up a notch with a four-month full-time Foundation Course in Circus Arts – then you too would be in the cast of a show just like this one!
  • If you have a few circus, dance or physical skills, you will be eligible for our one-year Professional Development Programme, which begins in September and follows the academic calendar.
  • We're super-flexible, so we can put together a package of classes and Open Training sessions that works into your day-to-day life. We make it suit your budget, goals and availability.
  • See our website page for dates of full-time training courses here

Please see https://www.aerialedge.co.uk/ or email info@contact.aerialedge.co.uk for more information about any of the above.
