Autumn 2026 Open Rig Night

Sat 17 Oct 2026 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM Aerial Edge Circus School, G51 2YU

Doors open 6.15pm | Showtime 6.30pm

Open Rig Night is your chance to see fabulous performers show off their exciting aerial and acrobatic skills and talents with trapeze, silks, hoop, rope, straps, Chinese pole and floor-based acrobatics. The show will open with Youth Circus students in the spotlight, then their acts will be followed by  performances by pro artists trialling new works,  instructors and students from our full-time courses and recreational classes.

They have stories to tell through their performances – and they're there for you because of their courage, creativity and the sheer thrill of performing for a live audience.

So gather your gang, grab your glad rags, and get yourself along for a great night! Spread the word to come along for a night of thrills, spills, joy and inspiration.

This is a chance for you to enjoy circus acts in a whole range of stages of development, and for you to encourage the performers as they test their material on a live audience.

The performance is suitable for all ages including children, who may be seated on mats or laps. Please note the venue has some uneven floor surfaces. You can arrange accessibility support by emailing info@contact.aerialedge.co.uk

Please consider a donation

As a not-for-profit organisation, any donation at all that you are able to make for Aerial Edge’s Sponsored Places scheme will be most welcome. It all adds up to give places in our Youth Circus to people who experience barriers to participation. As you go through checkout, there is a suggested amount for a donation – you can change that to zero or any amount that you can spare.

Aerial Edge is committed to Circus for All, regardless of age, size, body shape or experience. We know that people develop many aspects of themselves through circus training, not just their skills in circus disciplines. That’s why the Sponsored Places scheme is important. Organisations in the fields of poverty, disability, LGBTQ+ and refugees are partnering with us to identify suitable recipients.

Aerial Edge CIC (Community Interest Company), wishes to support the development and proper remuneration of circus artists so our aim is to extend the Sponsored Places scheme beyond Youth Circus into the adult programme.

Circus is for everyone regardless of age, ability, shape or size

Would you like to try circus training – and maybe one day perform in a show? We run recreational classes for all abilities and ages – from 1 to 100, from absolute beginner to professionals. Most classes last 90 minutes. If you want to step up to a full-time course, we have ones lasting one to four weeks, a Foundation Course lasting four months and a one year Professional Development Course. You can find out more here

Courses are designed to give you skills in a broad range of aerial and acrobatic arts, with a focus on creating a solo act in your favourite discipline for a show at the end. The longer you stay, the deeper you delve into your favourite disciplines, and the more you learn about act creation, performance and self-training to keep your progress moving forward for the longer term.

Please email info@contact.aerialedge.co.uk if you are interested in any of the courses.
