Join us for an informative session about how to implement equitable and inclusive hiring practices when recruiting development staff. Building diverse candidate pools, mitigating bias, crafting effective interview questions, integrating AI responsibly in the hiring process, and providing meaningful feedback to candidates are all important components of an effective hiring process.
In this session, you will learn how to:
- Develop Inclusive Recruitment Strategies – Learn how to attract and engage diverse candidates using inclusive job postings, equitable sourcing methods, and structured evaluation tools to mitigate bias.
- Enhance Interview and Selection Practices – Gain insights into crafting interview questions to assess technical skills, emotional intelligence, and alignment with organizational Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) values.
- Discuss Best Practices for Fair Hiring – Understand the appropriate use of AI in the hiring process, the importance of equitable salary benchmarking, and best practices for providing candidate feedback to support a positive employment brand.
About the Presenter
Ashley Barton, SHRM-CP is a Senior Human Resources Principal at Blackwell HR Solutions supporting the needs of nonprofits and small to midsize businesses. With more than 10 years of human resources experience, she specializes in talent acquisition, employee relations, data analytics, and operations. With previous experience as a small business owner and a background in marketing, Ashley is uniquely skilled in internal communications and applying her entrepreneurial spirit to align HR initiatives with broader organizational goals. Ashley is a SHRM-Certified Professional and holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Millikin University.
