Leaving an exploitative situation is only the first step. Real recovery takes long-term care, safe housing, emotional and practical support, and protection from further harm, and many survivors find that help falls away just when they need it most. Join us in London for an afternoon exploring what lasting recovery requires, inspired by the experiences of the 25 contributors to Through the Eyes of Survivors.
This longer in-person event brings together expert panel discussions, contributions from survivors, and time for audience questions and conversation. There will also be space to network with practitioners, researchers, policymakers and organisations working across the sector. Books will be on sale, with the opportunity to have your copy signed, and institutional purchase arrangements will be available for organisations wanting multiple copies.
The afternoon is for professionals in anti-trafficking, safeguarding, health, housing and social care, as well as policymakers, researchers, community organisations and survivor advocates. Reading Through the Eyes of Survivors will give you more guided information on the themes we discuss, and we recommend it for individuals and for teams. You can add a copy when you register or buy one on the day.
We recommend participants read the AFRUCA book: "Through the Eyes of Survivors" to facilitate an informed, inclusive and interactive session. Buy a copy of the book here - https://afruca.org/through-the-eyes-of-survivors
