From Stories to Action : Lessons from 25 Years of Anti Trafficking Work

Wed 16 Jun 2027 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

Our final event brings the series together. After 25 years of supporting survivors, what has AFRUCA learned, and what must change in our systems? This session looks back at the lessons from the book and the earlier conversations, and looks ahead to the changes needed in policy and practice, and who needs to act on them.

You will hear a short introduction and reflections on the key themes of the series, followed by a moderated panel and audience discussion. The session closes with a set of practical recommendations drawn from the series and from AFRUCA’s 25 years of anti-trafficking work, so that survivors’ stories lead to action.

We invite survivors, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, community organisations, funders and partners to join us, whether or not you have attended the earlier events. We recommend Through the Eyes of Survivors for more guided information on the lessons discussed, and it works well as a resource for professional learning, research and advocacy. You can add a copy when you register.

We recommend participants read the AFRUCA book: "Through the Eyes of Survivors" to facilitate an informed, inclusive and interactive session. Buy a copy of the book here - https://afruca.org/through-the-eyes-of-survivors
