Surviving exploitation is not the end of the story. Rebuilding a life means finding stability, work, education, relationships and a sense of identity and purpose. This in-person event in Greater Manchester explores what helps survivors move from simply surviving to thriving, and how services, employers and communities can support them, drawing on Through the Eyes of Survivors.
Expect expert panel discussions, contributions from survivors, and plenty of opportunity for audience questions and discussion. The afternoon also includes time to meet and network with others working to improve responses to trafficking. Books will be available to buy, with signing opportunities, and organisations can find out about arrangements for buying multiple copies.
The event is for anti-trafficking and safeguarding professionals, health and social care practitioners, employers and training providers, policymakers, researchers, community organisations and survivor advocates. We recommend Through the Eyes of Survivors for more guided information, and you can add a copy when you register or purchase one at the event.
We recommend participants read the AFRUCA book: "Through the Eyes of Survivors" to facilitate an informed, inclusive and interactive session. Buy a copy of the book here - https://afruca.org/through-the-eyes-of-survivors
