This special event offers a rare opportunity to step inside the historic Assembly Rooms at Torquay Town Hall, where Agatha Christie served as a nurse in the Voluntary Aid Detachment for the British Red Cross during the First World War.
The afternoon begins with a fascinating panel discussion featuring expert speakers who will explore Christie’s wartime experiences, bringing this poignant chapter of her life vividly to life in its original setting.
Following the discussion, guests are invited to enjoy a traditional tea dance with live music. Tea and cakes will be available to purchase, creating the perfect vintage atmosphere. Period-appropriate outfits very much welcome.
Proceeds from the event will support both the British Red Cross and the Agatha Christie Festival charity.
