Workshop Descriptions

Contemporary Movement w/ Key’Aira
This contemporary modern movement class offers an inclusive and supportive environment for movers of various backgrounds and experience levels. The class begins with grounding breath work and a Pilates-inspired warm-up that focuses on developing core strength, improving posture, increasing flexibility, and enhancing overall body awareness. From there, we explore center combinations influenced by both classical and contemporary modern dance techniques. The class concludes with traveling phrases and choreography, encouraging full-bodied movement, creative expression, and a deeper connection to self through dance.
Experience Level: 🔥🔥🔥 (some experience — I can learn and follow)

Ritual-iD w/ Tawanda
This class explores dance as a practice of transformation, contemplation, and healing. Through improvisation and breath, we’ll discover how movement can awaken new cognitive directions, deeper self-knowledge, and shared vulnerability. You’ll draw from practices like mhande rhythm (Karanga, Zimbabwe), Brazilian candomblé, physical theater, martial arts, and meditation.
Experience Level: 🔥 (trying something new — all levels welcome)

Limón-Based Modern w/ Ty
Inspired by the principles of José Limón, this class explores falling, rebounding, and stretching into gesture and shape. Rooted in breath and weight, we’ll explore movement that aligns with the natural world and the desire to transform space. All movement backgrounds are welcome.
Experience Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (dance is my career — professional level)
