Free fortnightly creative writing sessions at the Volunteer Hall
Mondays, 2.30pm - 4.30pm
October 4, 25
November 1, 22, 29
Are you writing now? Would you really like to start writing? Have you finished writing a story? Or is your story still the germ of an idea?
Join writer Gilly Beckett for creative writing workshops exploring the theme of life experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic. Enjoy these friendly in-person sessions with a warm-up and simple writing exercises to stimulate your imagination and help you get started with your own Lockdown Story, which we aim to publish in an anthology of stories written by all the participants at the end of the project.
Each session will include a short break for an informal chat and a snack. Please bring your notebook, and a drink/snack (optional).
The creative writing sessions are supported by the Co-op Community Fund. You can learn more about it on our website at Support us – A Heart for Duns
Here’s what participants said about Gilly’s writing workshops:

‘Well-structured and spaced out. Good amount of time for writing. Very Interesting’
‘Informal and made to feel at ease & relaxed’.
