Creating with AI: your face, your voice, your call

Explore AI avatars, voice cloning, synthetic video and vibecoding — what you can create, what you should question, and how to stay in control.

AI can now make a video of you that you never filmed, in a voice you never recorded. You can build a working website in a week without writing a line of code. And someone in the street can film you through their glasses without you knowing.

That's a lot of possibility, and a lot to question – especially if you're heading back to paid work, where these tools are turning up in training, marketing and everyday content.

So this month we're getting hands-on with creative AI. What you can make with it, what you should question, and how to keep the final say over your own face, voice and work.

It's beginner-friendly, and it's not a lecture. We'll cover:

Something you'll see. Liz Hunter, founder of nuala (an AI-powered tool for women to close the pay, career and AI skills gaps) and creator of the Stop Smart Glasses campaign, built the campaign's website in a week with AI – with no coding background. She'll show you how, live on screen, and talk through why smart glasses worry her.

Something you'll do. Leshmi Geraghty, who leads a content moderation team at Synthesia, will show you how to make a video from a simple prompt (and what makes a good one.) Then you'll make your own, using a workplace example you can take back to your role. She'll also take you behind the scenes on consent and voice cloning, and how automated and human moderation work together to catch harmful content.

Something you'll think about. Natalie Burns, Partner at Brighton brand agency UnitedUs and Founding Partner at Twinnin, a human likeness registry, on who owns your face once it's online – what you've already agreed to in the small print, why UK law gives you no standalone right to your own image, and what real consent should look like.

Who it's for: women on maternity leave, any industry, any starting point — from "I've never touched AI to "I've had a play but wouldn't trust myself with it at paid work."

Bring a laptop if you fancy it (a phone works too). Bring the baby. Bring your questions.
