12th Grazer Akrobatikfestival
Join us for 4 days of acro, jamming and hanging-out with lovely people from the community.
Important - please read this before you sign up!!
Changes to the workshop plan:
This year we try to loosen the workshop plan a little and have only one longer morning workshop session (instead of 2 as in the previous years). The rooster will look mostly like this:
- Morning warm-up that includes preparation for acro and aerial (handstands, tumbling, pre-hab, ...) - 1 hour
- 1 Morning workshop - 2 hours - up to 5 choices
- 2 Afternoon workshops - 1,5 hours each - up to 5 choices
- 1 Evening workshop (relaxation, theory, ...) - 1-2 choices
Cancellation & waiting list: Until July 31st you can cancel your ticket free of charge. After that date, you can transfer your ticket onto someone else - we will not transfer back any money, you need to sort it out in-between yourselves. Please don't forget to send your ticket code to the person you sold the ticket to.
After this date (beginning of August) people on the waiting list will be contacted and have the chance to buy vacated places.
What to expect:
- A wide variety of workshops: Mostly partner acrobatics (3 workshops per round), some aerial (1 workshop per round), other disciplines like handstands, tumbling and circus workshops (juggling, creation, ...) (about 1 per round)
- Plenty of space for open training
- 5 longes for safe exploration
- 2 saunas for relaxation
- Sleeping options in classrooms
- Fresh, healthy vegan food by Café Erde
- A flash mob in the city of Graz
- A visit to our new circus center
- Possibly an open stage (not sure yet)
Teachers: It's a community festival - every participant can be a teacher if qualified. We also invite a bunch of professional teachers for the advanced workshop program.
Arrival & Workshop start:
- Arrival+evening jam from Wednesday 28th at 17:00.
- First workshop Thursday morning Oct 29th at 10:30.
- First meal: Lunch Thursday morning Oct 29th. (no breakfast on this day!)
End if the festival: The festival ends on Sunday about 4pm.
Sleeping: You can "camp" in the class rooms - please bring everything you need to be comfortable.
Food: We serve vegan food by Café Erde for lunch and dinner. The breakfast will be prepared by our own kitchen team this year. Additionally we will have fresh pizza as a speciality once or twice.
If you do have food allergies, please let us know. We will forward them and try to consider them. Please respect food times & bring your dishes back, when you finish - otherwise it makes the cleaning hours for our kitchen helpers very long and we want them to have a nice time and be able to participate in as many workshops as possible!
Workshops: This festival is based on the thought of sharing knowledge & experience. Each participant has the option to give 2-3 workshops. For each workshop you will receive € 50,- to 60,- per person and per workshop. Please only teach what you feel comfortable teaching and include spotting in your demos & teaching to keep everyone safe. Depending on the amount of workshop proposals we might not be able to accept every proposal. We get in touch with you.
Kitchen helper: 9 Slots for kitchen helpers. You can get your ticket for half the price, if you agree to take over one shift in the kitchen per day (about 3-4 times). The workshops are timed so you will mostly not miss any of them. Your work includes preparing salads and side dishes, setting up tables, cleaning after meals, etc. Please only take a kitchen helper ticket if you plan to be at the festival full time (Thursday noon to Sunday noon at least).
Parking: No parking at the festival site. You need to find parking outside on the street - there you have to pay.
We look forward to seeing you!
