110: Do you have a story to tell? Get started with a short story!

Do you aspire to write a story but don’t know how to begin? Many published authors, like tutor Rosemary Argue, honed their skills by writing short stories.

In this course you’ll learn the basics of writing fiction and short stories including where ideas come from, how to get the words down in a first draft, avoiding writer’s block, and developing characters and plot. Next, redrafting and editing will be covered before finishing with where to send your story: competitions and publications.

The skills you’ll develop will set you up for writing novellas, novels and memoirs.
