414: Advanced Copper Foiling for Stained Glass Creation
Students who already have the skills to create a stained glass panel/window or object, and wish to go that bit further, the advanced course in week 2 will give them a chance to make a fused stained glass and copper foiled lamp shade using the same techniques used to create the one in the pictures.
This will involve two trips, one day early morning to Torbay Glass Studio to set up and fire the kiln and a second day of the week being required to travel in the afternoon of the next day to open the kiln and collect the fused glass.
The fused glass will then be prepared back at Summer School and made into a lamp using copper foil. Because they have the skills, and if it’s not completed there, they are capable of finishing it off at home and will be confident to do so.
