Alborada Films presents the Sheffield premiere of

Meeting Point (Punto de Encuentro

Directed by Roberto Baeza, 90 minutes, La Toma, 2022, Spanish with English subtitles

In the documentary Meeting Point (Punto de Encuentro) two filmmakers reconstruct what their fathers lived through in a torture center 45 years ago in Chile under the Pinochet dictatorship. They both involve their families in the staging process with the actors, and behind the cameras the emotional traces that the different generations carry with that familiar story, are revealed, because only one of their fathers survived, the other one is still detained-disappeared.

"Meeting Point is an extraordinary piece of cinema that combines fiction and non-fiction formats to explore the generational trauma left behind by a bloodthirsty dictatorship. It’s been almost half a century, but the wounds are still open, and Roberto Baeza uses this work to bring more light to the violence of the past to forge a fair present and dream for a better future." - Ricardo Gallegos, Film Cred
