Praise of the Rebellion: Cinema and Counterinformation in Popular Struggles in Argentina 1994-2025 (Film duration: 2 hours)
20 minute post screening-Q&A with the director Fernando Krichmar. Chaired by Dr Pablo Bradbury (University of Greenwich
SYNOPSIS:
After rediscovering Argentine documentary film, which had been cruelly persecuted and concealed by the Argentine dictatorship, filmmakers from very different political and social backgrounds launched a collective aesthetic and counter-information movement that accompanied the struggles against the Menem-De la Rua neoliberal project until its outbreak on December 19th and 20th, 2001.
As a result, a revival of Argentine documentary film was generated. Unfortunately, today, almost closing the circle, this group is being persecuted by president Javier Milei¨s extreme right-wing government.

It's Not 30 Pesos: Chile, Genealogy of an Insurrection (Film duration: 107 minutes)
30 minute post-screening Q&A with the director Fernando Krichmar. Chaired by Pablo Navarrete (Alborada Films)
SYNOPSIS:
It's Not 30 Pesos is a mutant documentary film. It began as an intervention film with the aim of highlighting an injustice: many of those who had confronted Pinochet's ferocious dictatorship with weapons are still being prosecuted, imprisoned, or in exile. The documentary's intention is to provoke reflection, combining the testimony of those who were part of the Manuel Rodriguez Patriotic Front (FPMR) 30 years ago with that of young actors.
While the film was being shot, the rebellion against the government of Sebastián Piñera broke out. Rebels shared the slogan "It's not 30 pesos, it's 30 years,” and unfortunately, Chile´s reality confirmed the thesis of the validity of the FPMR's ideas.
