I first came to Lisbon over thirty years ago and fell in love with the city. I set up 'Alex's Lisbon Tours & Events' to use my background in cultural history and to share not just the routine monuments and predictable sites, but the moving anecdotes, fun details and quirky surprises that make history personal - and I mix that with a social event that will make your time in Lisbon memorable. 

I also publish 'The LONG LIST - LGBTQ guide to Lisbon' for visitors and residents, and offer 'Alex's Queer Lisbon' treasure hunt and tour which reveal the hidden stories of Lisbon's LGBTQ history from the 16th Century onwards, and are appropriate and welcome people of any sexuality or gender, aged 16+.  (In 2023 'Alex's Queer Lisbon' treasure hunt was featured as a double-page spread in the Portuguese daily newspaper Público: https://shorturl.at/fjlpP )
