Four Athenians run away to the forest only to have Puck, the fairy, make both of the boys fall in love with the same girl. The four run through the forest pursuing each other while Puck helps his master, Oberon, play a trick on the fairy queen, Titania, who has fallen out with her husband (Oberon), over the adoption of a changeling child. The woman the two men originally were in love with, Hermia, is very upset that her best friend, Helena, has stolen the love of the man she loves and the one she didn’t love, Demetrius, but whom her father had told her to marry. The men fight over the wrong woman, though Helena does love Demetrius…

Meanwhile back at the Palace; Theseus, Duke of Athens and Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons (not to be confused with the online purchasing site), are celebrating their wedding day. In the end, Puck reverses the magic, and the two couples reconcile and marry. As part of the wedding celebrations some local artisans are to put on a play but all goes wrong when they decide to rehearse in the woods which are ruled over by the Fairy Queen and the Fairy King. All on Midsummer’s Day…and Night!
