All the great artists throughout art history used charcoal particularly for preparing for a painting but did you know it can be an amazing art form in its own right?

Join Alison for a messy evening with locally produced willow charcoal and make striking black and white tonal drawings that just sing atmosphere. Drawing skills are not needed for this fun experimental session, just a willingness to try something new, go with the flow and get your hands covered in charcoal. Hopefully, some of it will go on the paper and we’ll create some moody drawings together.
