Paint like Doris Hatt
Doris Hatt was a pioneer of British Modernism and a woman ahead of her time. She came to Watchet and made playful stylised paintings of the Esplanade. She was influenced by 20th-century Modernism, including Cubism and Abstraction, and by artists such as Braque and Léger.
Alison took Doris Hatt’s themes to create one of her eye-catching Watchet benches. Learn how to create a colourful, lyrical, Watchet scene using watercolour or acrylic with Alison's help and guidance.
