Welcome to the world of food over flame. The All Fired Up BBQ Festival is coming to town and it’s going to be 🔥🔥🔥

A celebration of all things grilled, smoked, skewered and served flaming hot under the summer sun, this brand new family festival will showcase the fine art of pitmasters and grill gurus.
Whether you know your low and slow from your reverse sear, your hickory from your mesquite, or blacken your Richmonds without a care in the world, there’ll be something to enjoy for everyone.

Live music and a DJ will provide the summer vibes, with wine, cocktail and beer stalls on hand to wet your whistle under the smoky summer sun. Children under 12 get in for free and there’ll be a feast of entertainment to keep your sausages occupied while you learn everything there is to know about food over flame.

And of course it wouldn’t be a Hitchin Foodie event without a live deep dive into the burning heart of barbecue excellence. Local experts will be on hand to guide you through the skills and techniques needed to achieve sizzling perfection in a series of cooking demonstrations.
Come for the food, music and festival atmos, and leave knowing you’ll never unwittingly charcoal a chicken drumstick again.

Spice Punch BBQ - Hand-made smoked supreme pizza sausage, smoked pork belly tacos and katsu wings

Cantina Carnitas - Taco heaven

Fold Me Close - BBQ- inspired pizzas

Craft and Cleaver - Brisket bun, charred St Louis rib and oysters flambadou

Apnapunjab - A feast of chicken, pork and lamb, marinated in Punjabi spices

Christy’s Kitchen - salmon nailed to a plank, sriracha maple wings and BBQ corn

Matt Morgan’s Kitchen (owner of Cawsburger) - A delectable treat of steak cooked over flame [apologies, Matt is no longer able to attend]

Lolulis fire and fish - Malaysian monkfish, Southwest fish shop kebab, seafood sub and Piri Piri sardines

BBQ demos by ‘Wilson Smoke and Grill’

Step up your BBQ game with a mini BBQ masterclass. Learn from a true BBQ expert, how to cook low & slow perfect pulled pork, how to spatchcock a chicken and how to perfect chicken wings on the BBQ. Tickets are £10 (to be bought in conjunction with an adult entry ticket). Demo times are 2pm or 4pm.

The event takes place at Lucas Lane Sports Club in Hitchin on August 18. Tickets are £8 - book early to avoid disappointment.
