How to Style Your Winter Table - Masterclass by Alice

We’re delighted to be re-opening the doors to our newly restyled Dutch barn, a warm and creative festive sanctuary filled with magic. 

Following our much-loved Winter wreath workshops, we’re continuing our annual workshop series at home, with two special limited edition sessions centered around the festive table. As the season turns and Winter begins to draw closer, we invite you to join us where you can create, explore, shop and get into the festive spirit.

The Masterclass

For our final Winter workshop of the season, we’re turning our attention to one of our favourite parts of Christmas - the festive table.

Alice’s approach to styling is rooted in the belief that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to create a beautiful table. Some of her favourite tablescapes are created using things that already exist at home, materials that can be repurposed, and treasures found outdoors and foraged throughout the season.

Spend an afternoon or the evening with Alice exploring the art of Winter table styling, as she takes a completely bare table and transforms it layer by layer - beginning with the placing of fabric and texture, before incorporating furs, greenery, branches, crockery, glassware, candles, herbs and natural materials to create texture, colour and scent. As the table comes to life, Alice will share styling tips and explain how and why each layer is added to create 'gezelligheid' - the Dutch sense of creating a cosy ambiance.

During this masterclass, you’ll be invited to create your own natural decorative name setting, using a selection of seasonal and foraged materials. Something simple and beautiful to take home with you - and a little piece of inspiration to help you recreate the sentiment around your own table.

As the afternoon or evening draws to a close, we’ll gather around our beautifully styled table and share a simple hearty, seasonal meal.

For directions, you can simply enter the address above. There is plenty of pay-and-display parking available within a short walk of the venue, and the space is also easily accessible by bicycle. Hitchin train station is approximately a 20-minute walk from the venue.

We’d recommend allowing yourself a little extra time to arrive, find parking and settle in before the workshop begins.
