All of Us Poetry Workshop - The Present Tense in Retrospect

Join us to explore poetry techniques and forms in a supportive environment.

This session we'll:

- Explore how changing the way you talk can change your view of yourself and the world

- Think through different verb tenses (e.g. past, present, future), and prepositions (e.g. through, to, from, up, down) and challenge our conventional uses of them

- Consider how playing with tense and relational words (e.g. prepositions) are valuable tools in language for reintepreting how you see yourself and others in the world. By being experimental and exploratory you can undermine your presuppositions, and open your view to new ways of seeing.

- As always, end with an opportunity for one or two attendees to share a poem for feedback (the feedback is optional! Please be mindful to only bring one poem due to time restraints and supporting everyone else present)

Our sessions are held in a private and quiet room, and we try to keep to our established timings.

The front entrance to Imagine Leeds on Blenheim Terrace has seven steps leading up to the front door. The accessible entrance to the building is on Back Blenheim Terrace.
