About the Performers

The Band of the West Midlands Fire Service is a friendly community concert and marching band based in the heart of Birmingham at WMFS HQ. The ensemble cover a wide and varied repertoire, providing music to suit all tastes and occasions. Band members are a mix of amateur and semi-professional musicians from across the West Midlands.​

The Band was formed in 1984 by a group of serving firefighters, many of whom had never handled a musical instrument before. However, they had a common goal: to make music! Initially the Band was only open to serving firefighters and their families, but after 15 successful years the number of members started to fall and the decision was made to allow members of the West Midlands community to join.

​Today, the Band is still thriving and has a membership of 50+ and an excellent reputation for providing audiences with high quality, engaging performances of a wide range of musical styles.

About the Programme

The Band are very excited to be performing in the beautiful surroundings of All Saints Church. They've put together a fantastic programme of music that suits all tastes and ages, so bring the whole family. Come along and enjoy a great afternoon of live music with us: from timeless classical pieces and catchy pop hits to your favourite film soundtracks and show tunes. There's truly something for everyone!

About the Community Celebration

The concert will finish at approximately 4.45pm, and will be followed immediately afterwards by a community celebration. There will be meat baps, ice-cream and more, all included within the ticket price. Do stay and join us to mark the end of this year's Saints in the Summer Music Festival in style!
