Description
Inner Voices: A performance created and performed by survivors of solitary confinement
September 24, 2024 | 7 PM
True Reformer Building | 1200 U St. NW, Washington DC 20009
We are so excited to be partnering with survivors of solitary confinement from the Unlock the Box Coalition through Inner Voices! Through several ongoing workshops, these survivors have been sharing their stories and collaboratively creating an original play that advocates for change and focuses on the topics of mental health and freedom, and we invite you to come witness these stories and see the play at our final performance on September 24.
Many special thanks to our partner, the DC Chapter of the Unlock the Box Coalition, and our sponsor, the DC Commission for the Arts & Humanities, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts. We’d also like to offer special thanks to First Congregational UCC DC, Gail Sonnemann, and First Trinity Lutheran Church DC for generously offering us space to facilitate our workshops and to the True Reformer Building for generously offering us space to showcase our final performance.
Transportation & Parking: There is limited street parking. The venue encourages use of the Metro / Lyft / Uber. Otherwise, the nearest paid parking garage is located at One Parking Garage at Union Row (2125 14th St. NW).
