8pm Friday - One Night Only!
Memorial Day weekend. The US-of-A. The sales team at Terry's Cars and Automobiles is preparing to honour the fallen by slashing prices on some gently used, (mostly) American-made cars. But the pressure's on. If Terry's team doesn't shift 66 cars by Monday, there'll be hell to pay.
Award-nominated, Lecoq-trained company BRILLIG “turns marketing jargon into a hilarious and horrifying poetry” (The Scotsman) to reveal the absurdity and madness beneath the gleaming bonnet of the American Dream. Equal parts David Lynch, Wes Anderson, and Dr Strangelove, Terry’s combines clowning and physical theatre, and features original music and one very special balloon. There's no guarantee the team will make the target, but you're bound to have the ride of your life…
★★★★★ “A hilarious, impressive, satirical, surrealist romp!” - The Quintessential Review
★★★★ “sharply directed and punchily performed with a smartly scripted structure...[t]he writing and performances … are deliciously funny.” - The Scotsman
★★★★ “All of the performances are consistently strong in this fine production.” - Broadway Baby
About the Company:
BRILLIG is an emerging, Lecoq-trained company made up of 4 theatre-makers from 3 countries, now based in Gloucestershire. Inspired by primary sources, we create affecting characters, delectable texts, and explosive theatrical transpositions of everyday life. Our virtuosic, big-hearted work leans on silliness and dark humour to provoke personal and political reflection.
Terry’s is BRILLIG Theatre’s first show, developed between 2023 and 2025 in the UK and France. It was nominated for the Pleasance Theatre’s prestigious Charlie Hartill Reserve Fund in January 2025, and performed at Brighton Fringe in May 2025 where it was shortlisted for Best New Show. Terry’s then went on to a critically acclaimed full-length run at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe festival, playing at the Pleasance Courtyard.
