Jeu Jeu la Foille's Frontal Lobotomy and Testy Manifesto
A double bill of two solo theatre performances; with spoken word, clowning, burlesque and puppetry.
Jeu Jeu la Foille’s Frontal Lobotomy
Visual theatre and poetry, heavily under the influence of Tom Waits and with a smattering of weird science. Original beat poetry, tormented lullabies and woozy mythology are punctuated with scientific accounts of transorbital lobotomy and feature a toy shop orchestra of musical reprobates.
Jeu Jeu la Foille’s Testy Manifesto
Enchantress weaves words of inner resilience, recovery and revolution in a striking visual anthology. Strange, poetic and acerbically silly; combining linguistic acrobatics with evocative images to delve deep into the mechanisms of intimate partner violence and systemic misogyny. Victoria Hancock aka Jeu Jeu la Foille trained as a clown and mime artist and then became a poet. Her writings are beautiful melodies telling you terrible things.
