Who wants to hear a folk song about a tap-dancing T-Rex?
Who wants to see a sketch where King Charles and the Prime Minister play Twister?
Who wants a great night out at a show you’ve helped to put together yourself?

Because we’ve got just the ticket! In an Instant Wit show, it’s you, not us, who decide what the songs and the sketches are about. And, if at any point, you’re starting to get cold feet at the prospect of shouting out suggestions, don’t panic – in the interval there’s a chance to put written ones in the Mixing Bowls, so that they can be used at random during the second half of the show. Naturally us Witters like to reward people for their hard work, so for good suggestions you get to choose between soup or custard, whilst the very best one of the evening will win you a bottle of wine.

We’re proud to use some of the best of local talent, with our performers regularly appearing at the Tobacco Factory Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath and Bristol Old Vic. If you fancy something hilarious, fresh and off-the-cuff, this is the show for you.

All purchases for show at the Alma now have a suggested donation to the theatre and inhouse company of £3.00

The Alma Theatre has been serving the community for 25 years and has never been the recipient of ACE or other funding. Our theatre manager started maternity leave as the pandemic hit and as a result we missed all opportunities for additional arts council support. We have been offering reduced rates, preferential box office splits and extended promo support to aid the recovery from the past year and a half. Your help will enable us to continue bringing fantastic stories to your local theatre. 50% of your donation will go to the Alma Theatre, and 50% to our inhouse company, Schoolhouse Productions.
