The Company
Pretender Productions is a small, Bath-based production company originally founded in 2024 and have since created a number of much talked about productions: from their inaugural open air show, Shakespeare Under a Midsummer Sky, to their first full length play, One December Night which is being revived in Bristol after their hugely successful 2025 run at the Crescent Theatre, Birmingham, and several solo performance pieces, which are being redeveloped for tour in 2027.  One of their short films, The Party's Over is currently featured on The Short Film Show in association with Prime Video.

The Alma Theatre has been serving the community for 29 years and has never been the recipient of ACE or any other funding. We offer reduced rates, preferential box office splits and extended promo support to assist all visiting companies. Your help will enable us to continue bringing fantastic stories to your local theatre, develop the programme, maintain the venue and create work in house. 2/3rds of your donation will go to the Alma Theatre, and 1/3 to our inhouse company, Schoolhouse Productions.
