A double-bill of spoken word performance.
SOAK by Isadora Vibes
Isadora Vibes aka Katie Grant is a poet, writer, theatre maker and artist. She has written, produced, directed and performed in a number of successful solo and ensemble shows in Bristol, London, Edinburgh and Sweden. Artistic Director of the award-winning avant-garde punk guerrilla theatre company Dada For Girls, her latest one woman show is both a theatrical visualisation and immersive experience, bringing to life poems from her debut poetry collection 'SOAK' published by Burning Eye Books. Nominated for an Innovation in Performance Award in Stockholm 2018 and inspired by the liquidity and liminality of existence, SOAK is a surreal and sensual piece of work, capturing both the darkness and light of human experience. This performance has been curated especially for this event.
DRY SEASON by Kat Lyons
DRY SEASON is a one woman show exploring identity, aging and the menopause via an autobiographical journey through the experience of premature ovarian failure. Intimate, tender, and unashamed to air dirty laundry in public, Dry Season seeks to create space to break the silence surrounding ‘The Change’ and its less-than-glamorous effects.
Kat Lyons is a Bristol-based poet, writer, storyteller and performer with a background in live art and troublemaking. She performs regularly across the UK and hosts events with spoken word producer Raise the Bar.
DRY SEASON is Kat’s first solo show and has been developed through National Lottery funding from Arts Council England. This is a work in progress showing followed by a Q&A and a chance to share feedback.
