Doodlebugs and Bogeymen takes a fond look at the lives of Jen and Brian Milton, two evacuees from London, who are billeted with Mr. and Mrs. Brimble on their West Country farm. These children are two of the lucky ones who, whilst missing home, are also having the time of their lives.

All set to music from the era and written from stories. A thoroughly entertaining show for the whole family.

Now in its twentieth highly successful year, the MoE rejoices in humour born of unfailing cheerfulness in the face of adversity. Their Tales from the West Country at War Trilogy – written from WW2 family anecdotes – carry that intangible quality of truth and take a glimpse into the lives of ordinary people during extraordinary times. Each production is performed with songs and music from the era and are suitable for all ages.

The Alma Theatre has been serving the community for 25 years and has never been the recipient of ACE or other funding. Our theatre manager started maternity leave as the pandemic hit and as a result we missed all opportunities for additional arts council support. We have been offering reduced rates, preferential box office splits and extended promo support to aid the recovery from the past year and a half. Your help will enable us to continue bringing fantastic stories to your local theatre. 50% of your donation will go to the Alma Theatre, and 50% to our inhouse company, Schoolhouse Productions.
