Adapted from the Indian folktale Andher Nagari (City of Chaos) by Bharatendu Harishchandra and The
Emperor's New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen, this is a play about the madcap adventures of two sisters who escape their city, unable to bear the despotic nature of their ruler, and chance upon a city where EVERYTHING sells for a penny!

Buy One Get One Free premiered as a part of the Aha! International Children’s Theatre Festival in 2016, in collaboration with Ranga Shankara, Bangalore. The play has been staged over 20 times in India, including in Bangalore, Dharwad, Belgaum and Chennai.

Suggested age range 8+ but all welcome.

All tickets include a £1 booking fee

All purchases for show at the Alma now have a suggested donation to the theatre and inhouse company of £2.00

The Alma Theatre has been serving the community for 25 years and has never been the recipient of ACE or other funding and were unable to secure the Covid Arts Recovery Fund. We have been offering reduced rates, preferential box office splits and extended promo support to aid the recovery from the past year and a half.
