This is a 4-session professional training programme covering practical systems programming in C/C++, Python and Rust, and the networking beneath it.
The programme takes you from writing correct code in three languages to building and operating networked services. Every session combines focused teaching, a worked demonstration and hands-on lab time, with practical projects and graded exercises.
The programme consists of four sessions:
What You Will Learn
By the end of this programme, you will:
Develop practical programming skills in C/C++, Python and Rust
Understand memory management, pointers, ownership and borrowing
Work with multithreading, concurrency and asynchronous programming
Build data-processing tools and REST API services
Understand TCP/IP, sockets and network communication
Analyse packets and build networked applications
Develop concurrent services and measure performance under load
Why This Matters
Modern software systems require more than writing code that works in isolation. They also require reliable memory management, concurrency, data processing and networking skills.
This programme provides practical experience building working software, from individual programming exercises to networked services.
Ideal For
Engineers and graduates who can already program in at least one language
Software developers looking to deepen their systems programming skills
Technical professionals interested in C/C++, Python and Rust
Engineers seeking practical networking and concurrent programming experience
No prior C++, Rust or networking experience is assumed.
Training Format
4 sessions
3 hours per session
12 hours in total
Live online training
Hands-on programming exercises
Instructor-led demonstrations
Graded exercises and practical projects
A standard laptop running Windows, macOS, or Linux is sufficient. All exercises use free, open-source tools and are designed to run offline.
The sessions are designed to be taken in order, although each session can also stand on its own if you only need part of the programme.
