This session introduces practical systems programming in C and C++, focusing on memory management, data structures, object-oriented programming and multithreading.

You will work through programming exercises and build components that lead towards a multithreaded TCP echo server.

This session is part of a 4-session professional training programme:

REGISTRATION FOR ALL 4 SESSIONS IS 150$ ONLY.

What You Will Learn

  • Variables, types and functions

  • Pointers and manual memory management

  • Structures, classes and templates

  • The Standard Template Library (STL)

  • Multithreading, mutexes and condition variables

  • Building and managing dynamic data structures

  • Developing thread-safe programming components

Why This Matters

Systems programming requires careful control over memory, resources and concurrent execution.

This session develops practical skills for writing correct C and C++ code and building components that can be used in larger software systems.

Ideal For

  • Software developers and engineers

  • Graduates with existing programming experience

  • Technical professionals developing systems programming skills

  • Engineers interested in memory management and concurrency

No prior C++ experience is assumed, but participants should already be able to program in at least one language.

Training Format

  • 3-hour live online training session

  • Focused teaching and worked demonstrations

  • Hands-on programming exercises

  • Instructor-supported lab time

  • Practical session project: a multithreaded TCP echo server

This session is Session 1 of the 4-session Software Development Programme.
